The Keeper of Lost Memories
OUR STORY
Part 1: The Boy in the Junkyard (1998)
Every Saturday morning, I would take my saved change to the nearby secondhand market. The air was thick with the smell of solder and dust. Underneath the stalls piled high with discarded motherboards and old hard drives, I found my treasure.
My first “NAS” (Network Attached Storage) was a cobbled-together monster—a 2GB Quantum Bigfoot hard drive from 1995, fitted with a network card salvaged from a broken office computer. It was kept almost entirely afloat by my hopes and duct tape, humming and clicking like a time machine. I stored everything on it: pixelated games copied from a friend, my first digital photo (a blurry picture of a tabby cat), and MP3s of my favorite Beyond songs.
At the time, I had no idea I was building a time capsule.

Part 2: The Man in the Data Center (2021)

A customer brought in a 20-year-old Maxtor hard drive. “There are photos of me as a child in there,” he said, his voice tense and anxious. As I struggled to recover the data, I couldn’t help but stare at myself on the server rack—surrounded by cutting-edge technology, yet feeling increasingly distant from the boy playing in the junkyard.
Then, a miracle happened. While testing the hard drives, I stumbled upon a long-forgotten folder—containing photos of my first NAS. Photos showed my grandfather smiling in his workshop; my childhood home before the developers demolished it; and me, twelve years old, clutching that Frankenstein-like NAS, as if it were the future.
Tears fell onto the keyboard.

Part 3: Why We Are So Focused(2025)
We don’t just build NAS systems at NasBoost. We build time machines.
That blurry photo of my cat? Gone when the Bigfoot drive finally failed. My grandfather’s voice? Lost to a corrupted RAID array. We spend our lives creating memories, then trust them to the most fragile medium—time.
Your NAS isn’t just about terabytes and transfer speeds. It’s about:
Technology fades. Memories shouldn’t.
Today, I still visit secondhand market Street. But now I go with all of you—helping build systems that won’t just work, but will remember. Because the most important data we’ll ever store isn’t the 4K movies or the work files.
It’s the proof that we once lived, loved, and were happy.
And that’s worth preserving.
