Every Saturday morning, I would take my saved change to the nearby secondhand market. The air was thick with the smell of solder and dust. Underneath the stalls piled high with discarded motherboards and old hard drives, I found my treasure.
My first “NAS” was a 2GB Quantum Bigfoot drive held together by duct tape, humming and clicking like a time machine. I had no idea I was building a time capsule for my MP3s of my favorite Beyond songs.
